EL RANCHO FLORIDA METROPOLITAN DISTRICT
2021 CONSERVATION WATER RATES and WATER RESTRICTION
(Effective May 1, 2021)

Please be aware that in case of extreme drought, domestic water usage will need to be curtailed in stages, based upon our water system’s ability to pump and refill our storage tanks to maintain adequate household pressure and fire flow requirements.

The Metro Board’s primary responsibility is to provide adequate water for domestic (household) use for all residents, and based upon the potential shortfall of recharge to our aquifer, we have determined that water rates for this year should be adjusted as follows.

CONSERVATION RATES:

No change to the base rate of $140, which includes 10,000 gallons of household water per month.

From 10 to 20 thousand gallons, the rate will be an additional $5 per thousand.

  • 20 to 30 thousand gallons, the rate will be an additional $10 per thousand.
  • 30 to 40 thousand gallons, the rate will be an additional $15 per thousand.
  • 40 thousand gallons and up, the rate will be an additional $25 per thousand.

 WATER RESTRICTIONS :
(When/If the Board determines restrictions are necessary.  Residents will be notified by mail & email)

STAGE 1 – Non-household watering will be restricted to 2 hours per day: Even numbered properties on Tuesdays and Thursdays, odd numbered properties on Wednesdays and Fridays.

STAGE 2 – If the system intake falls below 27 gallons per minute and the storage tanks cannot maintain 120,000 gallons minimum, non-household watering will be restricted to no more than 2 hours, 1 day per week: Even numbered adresses on Tuesdays and odd numbered addresses on Fridays.

STAGE 3 – if supplemental water has to be purchased from an outside source to reach minimum safe levels in our tanks, no outside watering will be allowed at all.

The following Conservation Incentive Rates will be assessed to any property that fails to follow the restrictions as listed above:

  • 1st Offence = a written warning.
  • 2nd offence = a $100 fine.
  • 3rd offence = a $150 fine.
  • Each subsequent offence = a $200 fine.

The Board sincerely hopes that none of these worst case scenarios happens, and with your help we all should get through the upcoming summer without any restrictions.
